I love the SNSC 70 mod as well... some great models in that mod. Can't wait to see this one when it's ready! Thanks again for sharing them with us!

Thanks guys,

I was there at Riverside and saw the greats drive these great cars, I feel very fortunate to have witnessed them...

Here are some more sneaks...

"twcom" has done most of this, I've only added a few cars , some of the very fringe ones. This is really his baby, I'm just filling in around the edges and some research. The best year of the best years of the series for sure...

One of the things unique about twcom's work is that he's really good at transforming one car model into something else by using shadows and bits of color, he's created that Boss 302 on the Camaro and it works...

The 1970 Trans Am car set is almost there, it's exploded into over 100 cars! We (twcom and myself)decided to make sure every last car raced in 1970 (and a couple other special things) are represented. The set will come with 11 different in-game car lists so that you can race historically accurate fields the whole way through the 1970 season.

This has been a heck of a lot of research as the info on the fields has been so poorly kept over the years. You go to the sites that have this info and there are no car numbers, photos of anything but the Bud Moore Mustangs, the Penske Javelins and a few more very iconic cars are hard to find and once you find them confirmation is even harder to come by. You have to dig very deep and read every little snippet of info every newspaper clipping posted by folks that are trying to keep this stuff from disappearing. It's been fun, educational and at times mind numbing! BUT I think we have done a respectful job and this set is accurate.

So shortly, hopefully before the end of the August we'll have this one available for download. It's Trans Am at it's best!

UPDATE:

The 1970 Trans Am Car set is at 108 cars (including re-numbers and driver changes) TWCOM and I are doing the last five cars (really four plus a driver change for five) at present, one of which is a Dodge Dart! (TWCOM's got that one!)

We are hoping to have all the loose ends tied up and a releasing the set sometime in the next three or four days. I will finish my painting contributions to the set here in a couple hours and set out to make sure I can find and post working links to the tracks that we'll suggest for the eleven tracks on the 1970 Trans Am schedule.

Here's a screen cap of the completed Riverside 37 car grid list on the track.

Should be the last update, hoping so anyway!

IT'S HERE!!!!

The 1970 Trans Am Car set for the NR2003 DMR snsc70 mod (cts physics)by "twcom & "Highbank"

Download Link: http://www.mediafire.com/download/avtl43ldx5aa17a/1970_Trans_Am_Car_Set.rar

It's all 114 cars that raced in 1970 at the 11 races on the schedule. Plus a couple of special DNSs, AJ Foyt's #56 Bud Moore Boss Mustang and Andy Porterfield's #83 Camaro. The set includes a car list file for each of the 11 races, I'm suggesting Kurt Morgan's "Falcon Hill" be used in place of the Donnybrook race, "New Hampshire RC" for Bryar and "Rainier 7in1" for Kent.

"twcom" created a custom "Trans Am" Mainback for set as well as a set of art files, Installation instructions are in the README.

Also included is a set of Goodyear racing tires for the cars.

So Enjoy and Thanks!

Had surgery last Friday and have been in recoup mode for a week, getting a little couch wary, I'm supposed to be down until the 23rd, getting a little tired of not working on stuff, but I have snuck a few things out, like starting the 1988 Escort Trans Am Series car set for NR2003.

Also some very early preliminary work on a 1968 Trans Am set for HEAT. (I've done the #6 Sunoco Camaro of Mark Donahue) The team over at The Mod Squad is working up a car viewer for the HEAT VTA mod and Rogue is working on a render scene as well. So that's kind of in the slow mode for now...

Back to the NR2003 ASA90 mod for the 1988 TA set. I've done two cars so far, plus my driver car for the set...

Here are the three cars about to drop into the "Bus Stop" at the Watkins Glen Boot (Long) track...Of course the '88 Trans Am story was the Audi Quattro team with Hurley Haywood in the #44 Audi taking the title. So this meant doing an Audi template. I'm going to release this at the time of the set release together with the Porsche 944, Mazda RX7, and Nissan 300ZX plus any other templates I make for the set.

The second car in the image is the #7 Paul Gentilozzi Olds Cutlass. Gentilozzi won the first race on the 1988 schedule @ Long Beach in his Budwieser Olds.

The barely visible third car is my #51 Dayco Ford Mustang driver car...here's another angle of the three cars...

Not really hard at work on anything yet, not supposed to be siting much at all...

And as a PSA for all you guys 50 or older, get that prostate check!

Added the #14 Hans Stuck Audi and the #2 Lyn St James Merkur to the set over the week-end...

I'm doing a 1968 Trans Am set for HEAT (my first HEAT set) and decided to roll out a 1968 set on the NR2003 snsc70 mod at the same time, it just makes sense to do them simultaneously. Here's the first car for that set, the iconic Mark Donohue Sunoco Camaro.

So I've got three sets going now or really two, interesting thing is that they are 20 years apart 1968-1988...
